back home again in indiana...

hey y'all! i'm back from indiana and have lots of pictures for ya! i'm here at my home in houston for a week- so hopefully i can get all of the pictures up before i leave town again!

quickly though, as i sit here with my tecate, lime, and salt, a gotta thank y'all for coming out to my show last sunday! we had such a good time and enjoyed some amazing talent from some of the cast members from mama mia!! thanks guys for coming out! don't forget, i'm back onstage tomorrow night (wednesday october 3rd) at 10 o'clock- at guava lamp, of course.

on with set one of the pictures!

ok y'all- this is the picture of the jet that took me to indiana. remember hurricane humberto, our little tropical storm that became at category one just before landfall? well, our lovely pilot decided to fly right through the damn thing. talk about a shaky ride! crap!

me just minutes before boarding- can you see how thrilled i am to be flying again? ugh. hate it.

lol that's my red luggage there.

30 minutes outside of hurricane humberto. finally i can see the wing again!

three bloody marys later and a whole lotta turbulence...

this is jimmy. he was my flight attendant. when i got on the plane he said, "where do i know you from?" and i was like, "i dunno," and finally he was like, "oh! i've been to your show at guava lamp!" and then the whole jet was turning around looking back at me. this was before take-off. after an uncountable amount of bloody marys i shoved some money into his pocket when he wasn't looking and this delightful lady next to me named debbie whispered to me, "oh, get a room already!" lol!

the weather cleared before landing and i spied this tiny little town...

once i was at the indianapolis airport i rented a gay-ass pt cruiser and hit the road. on i465 there are the pyramids- an interesting architectural landmark in indy. one of my first jobs after college for in the first tower.

cool indy cop cars with the new stadium being built in the background. one of the reasons for this trip was that this would be the first time my family was going to have four generations together at once. the pictures on the second update will have your heart melting- but for now...

it's about an hour drive to the indy zoo- my nephew ian passed out on the way.

south of downtown indy.

this is your friend toddicus inside the desert dome. see, the indy zoo has no cages. you can interact with about 40% of the animals. this dome is massively cool.

meerkats!

snake-neck turtles! love 'em!

my kick-ass mom and me.

some rocks and a very old tortoise.

see. no cages.

aw, a baby giraffe. we have a new one too at the houston zoo!

but i didn't get to see the one in houston feeding from mama! too cool!

hey babe.

oh yeah. this is what i'm talkin' about. they can come right up to you if they want.

white rhinos.

kodiak bears.

lol all of the big, scary creatures in the zoo and this display frightened my niece kate and nephew ian. you get to actually walk through the bird cage. they birds are just as curious about you as you are of them. it kinda freaked the little ones out being that close. so we left it promptly ; )

scaredy cats.

i think this is the closest i've ever been to a tiger.

dogsharks! and yes, you can reach right in and pet them.

on the ride home we passed the indy children's museum which seemed to be having a bit of a problem containing the dinosaurs.

and this is the end of part one of my 2007 indiana trip. there should be one or two more installments. this picture should be a good hint of what's to come.

i'm off to austin on october 11th. hope to see some of you there! in the meantime, expect at least one more update.

denver, part two!

hey everyone- here's part two of the denver trip!

enjoy!!

i liked this ram i saw while out shopping.

here i am at old chicago pizza downtown biting myself.

and drinking some beer...

this is eddie. he was my denver tour guide all week! love you eddie! thanks! muah!

please tell me you see that smiley face in the clouds. please.

hands down some of the best pizza ever. it ranks up there with bazbeaux's in indianapolis. they smothered my pizza with green chilis. amazing.

stop by old chicago pizza and ask for this darling, ms. micah.

some of the denver boys (and a girl, but seriously, she could be a boy) at jr's in denver. these guys rock!

this shirt is gay.

dj greg and myself. i met him in indy years ago and now he lives in denver.

later on eddie took me to club vinyl, a fabulous two-storey club that's both indoors and outdoors overlooking the city.

omg there's mexicans here too! it's eddie (he's italian) alex, ricardo, and raul! chulos!

guapos! estoy en cielo!

this is the glamourous bartender cori. she gave me her number to call her and i can't find it! email me cori! please! : )

ok. this was the coolest thing ever. walking back to the car i saw these guys camping out on the sidewalk in front of an outdoorsy store on broadway. they were first in line for a big event... but get this- they were a week early. steve, lori, loren stephanie, and travis are your campers. steve and lori emailed me to explain, "the week..........well for us 8 days was crazy! you were by far one of the coolest people we met, bar none. you met us on our second night which i believe was saturday, we got two hundred dollars each for camping out and we broke the record for the earliest people to ever camp out for sniagrab. We spent our time usually testing out the bikes and skateboards and streetboards in Sports Authority and became pretty good friends with the people who worked there. It was a lot of sitting and waiting but it was all definitely worth it."

you guys rock. loved meeting ya.

guess who got drunk.

the very very accomodating ms. amy at the curtis hotel...

and now for some of the drive home...

sunflower fields! my favorite!

wind fields! my other favorite!

seahorses?

big cloud monster- see his face facing left?

that's all folks- i'm off to indiana for week! i'll be updating again around the week of september 22nd... don't forget to buy the new siouxsie solo album out tomorrow!

xoxo
love y'all!

denver is a-ok!!!!!!!!!!

hey everyone! i'm home from denver, colorado and must say, it is an incredible city!! as most of you know, when i travel in the u.s., most of the time i drive. i have a lot of stuff to take for my shows! anyway- i'm gonna show you denver, and how i got there.

i listened to siouxsie sioux's new solo album most of the way and kristeen young, both of which i cannot get enough of! soooo good!

you know, i see the strangest shit when i travel across the country. houston to denver is about 17 hours if you drive like i do, and a little more for people that go the speed limit. sorry, 70 is just too slow for my ass.

what the hell?

i leave houston on 290w and hit highway 6 up through college station and waco- then i hit 35w to ft. worth and eventually on to witchita falls.

next i hit amarillo. this is 5 o'clock traffic. must be nice!!!!!!

toddicus' first time in the great plains of north west texas.

the view is stunning.

: )

there's my pedophile van i drive around the country at a nice texas rest stop.

familiar signs help the long drive.

now, y'all know i'm no militant vegetarian. i have been a vegetarian for almost 20 years and it's for me, not for anyone else. if you order steak in front of me i'm not gonna wrinkle my nose or make any comments (like many of you who still think it's cute to put meat on the end of a fork and wave it in my face... go back to high school) but my point is, is that these beautiful cows were sticking their noses through these holes when i was at a red light. they're off to slaughter. but you see that shit coming out the window? they're piled on top of each other, crapping liquid because they're scared to death (literally i suppose) and people still come up to me and think that this is ok. if you could smell what some of these farms were like, you'd just die. sometimes the stench was so bad i was retching. it's not like standing in the country in indiana and smelling manure. we're talking massive shit farms that permeate the air. anyway, next time you put meat in my face, think about who really has more balls- it takes more guts to actually not eat meat than does to eat it. think about it.

but killing bugs on the other hand, well, it just can't be helped sometimes.

trains and plains.

past amarillo and through upper texas comes oklahoma, and eventually, colorado.

i eventually got in to denver around 12:30 at night, checked my ass in the fabulous curtis hotel with just enough time to unpack and put away a few beers and maker's mark on the rocks so i could sleep- i was cranked up on about six redbulls and two coffees.

i woke up early to hit the town. this was my first daytime glance of downtown denver. not what i expected! where are the rocky mountains cradling the town with their snow-peaked mountains? denver is actually built on a plain east of the rockies. it's the flattest city in the united states i learned with 300 days of sunshine- making it one of the driest cities too. if you look way off to the west you can see the start of the rocky mountains.

the curtis hotel.

i came representing mexico...

...and texas.

this is wonderful 16th street. it's filled with shops and restaurants as far as the eye can see. and people watching is keen too. ; )

i thought this plant looked like the grinch.

a fantastic bookstore on 16th street.

heading toward the millennium bridge over the platte river.

this city is covered in parks and green places to sit and chill.

this fountain by capitol hill commemorates the earliest pioneers.

the capitol building's beautiful gold dome.

it's meeeeee!!!!!!

omg my sexy shower in my hotel room at the curtis.

my cute alarm clock- loved it considering i drive a convertible beetle.

after disney axed beauty and the beast from the broadway circuit to make room for the little mermaid, they premiered the little mermaid in denver. my hotel just happened to be across the street from the denver opera house, and my ass got the last ticket left for the premiere- a box seat nonetheless. i was thrilled!

it was incredible. i cried like a baby- happy tears, sad tears- i'm just glad i saw it alone! lol!

oh look! there's the rockies! waaaaay in the distance.

masturbation must be a bitch!

is anybody home?

after a long day of walking, i got back to the hotel to find stretch limos all around the block. the curtis hotel was where all of the stars of the porn star ball were staying! omg- i met ron jeremy, dave navarro, and these two dolls- jenna jameson and another girl who i don't know! (sorry y'all, but i don't watch porn so i don't know who they all were.) but i did see that dwarf (midget?) porn star with all of the tattoos. what a trip!

so next week i'm off to indiana, but before i go i'll update the site with pictures of all of the wonderful denver people i met! you're all so beautiful- and special thanks to eddie for showing me the city all weekend! xoxo muah eddie!
