hello my friends. as many of you know, a friend of the houston community and of mine was murdered last week in her apartment alongside her husband. Kim Yvette was a fabulous person that will be missed... i had the honour of singing with her at The Briar Patch and enjoying her weekly show at The Guava Lamp on Thursday nights. i hope you'll take the time to read this article about her here. she and her husband will be terribly missed. she was truly one of the kindest people on the earth. i love you baby.
and with that sad news i must tell you i've been reflecting a lot on friends and family and have added a new poem that i was intending to save for later, but thought now was an appropriate time to share it. enjoy it, and write some poetry for the friends you've had and have in life when you've got the time. it'll help you reflect, smile, and learn something about yourself.
i read at Houston International Poetry fest and read a new poem called "The Glory Hours & Bright Light" which will be on the HIP CD available soon. the CD will be fantastic with some of my favourite poets reading their work. what an awesome night.
don't forget to come to guava lamp sunday nights and wednesday nights from 10:00pm to 2:00am when i host karaoke. remember, it's 21 and up and a little bit "R" rated at times. *big grin*
i love you all, XOXOXO, keep the emails coming. they give me fuel for more.
don't forget to call that person you've been meaning to call. they want you to. they really really really do.
xo

hey gang- first off, thank for your continued support, emails, and letters (and poetry!) from the last few months.
I've been toiling away greatly on a new collection and was finished when suddenly (!!!!!!) a new poem emerged and started a whole new project. So, to make up for lost time, I'm including part one of "On The Death Of A Constant Lover" (part seven is in the book) and another new one for the time being.
Check back often as things are starting to happen- keep sending me your poetry to be a part of the website's future...
Love to you all- I'm off to International Poetry Fest right now!!! XOXOXOXOXO
