how did it become june already??

well i'm not gonna sit here and offer you a bunch of cheese for not updating the site for the longest time...
i actually have no excuse except that i'm a busy bastard right now.
i'm hosting pride idol right now (plenty of pictures to come...)and the houston pride parade and am still doing my little ditty every sunday and wednesday night at guava lamp!

my house is a little difficult to get to if a visitor hasn't been there before so i always set out luminaries. well, not always. i threw a party about a month ago for my regular guava lamp crowd...

lol this is why i shaved my head a few weeks ago. everyone had this cut for a half a minute!! and look at wes behind me like, "damn i wish my fauxhawk was that big already!"

double trouble

my girl melissa gave me a wish necklace as a late bday present : )

four of my best regulars at the show- and two are regular performers as well!
(guess which ones...)

my pregnant neighbor stephanie will be a perfect example for her new little one. (yes, she quit smoking as soon as she found out she was preggers)

neighbors and friends...

two more friends who are regular guava guys now too...

leysh habibi leysh!!??

um...

brandon and his wife morgan...

eric himan played at guava again recently...

secuuuuuurity and valet guys... : )

and my favorite punching bag monique performs... she always is a good sport with my tranny jokes... i love her!

and david- he's as crazy as i am and that's why we're friends...
more to come... i'm off to beddy-bye

holy mackerel!
are y'all mad at me?? lol i've been so busy... so much to do in the springtime! yesterday i got a little sunburned hosting the 30 year anniversary kick-off party of the montrose softball league- a complete honor to be a part of that! pictures soon i hope... i just had a birthday... i'm an all-grown-up 35 years young as of last week! but for now i want to share with y'all some pictures from last winter that i'd forgotten about! enjoy! and happy spring!

once again, i went to texas renfest... had a blast, as usual...

i felt a little devilish...

this cute red faerie came up to our group and joined us for a while...

a month later (december 2008) my friends sean and josh and i went to galveston to prove to the world that the island is still there!!

we started the day at the 3rd coast bar for bloody marys and pool.

word up...

yo yo! josh is kickin' it old skool!

texting...

the flagship hotel... the only pier left standing in galveston after hurricane ike- but it is inaccessible as the drive washed away... and there are huge holes in the walls on the opposite side...

josh and toddicus proving the beach is still there...

told ya!!

a toast to my weekend home!!

and as you can see here, by december of 2008, carnival cruise lines were porting in galveston again.

sean and me acting like a bunch of teenagers.

just before this picture was taken i overheard a lady say to her husband something like, "gee, there aren't as many people here as there were last year" or something foul like that, and myself, who went there to spend money and support the island (and by support i mean buying beer and drinks) and by now was a bit tipsy, told the lady, "hey lady! ya think a freakin' hurricane might've just blew through here and devastated the island???" it thought her husband was going to kill me, but he was probably too mortified by his wife's stupidity.

for those of you who come to my show at guava lamp, you'll recognize this picture from the flatscreen tvs. : )

since sean is in the military, we decided to walk the streets and turn some heads by being pretty gay : P i have to tell you, nobody really noticed. i guess will & grace really did soften people lol

i love this picture. the boys and i headed to the beach for an impromptu photo shoot for the show at guava.

i had to spin because i get so excited by the ocean, even after all these years.

if you look closely at the banister i'm holding, you'll see it's bent from the tidal surge during hurricane ike.

goodbye lovers... see you soon.

one month down... eleven to go!!
well kids, january is nearly over already... and 2009 has started with excitement! The world watched pres. obama take office with hopeful anticipation, and i'm thinking it's time for some change in my life too! so as soon as this next book comes out, well, time for change!!
here are the final pictures from my trip to chile, south america. enjoy

at the entrance to the santiago zoo. let me tell you about the little school girls that followed me around lol!

the santiago zoo is literally up the side of the mountain. this is the view from halfway up. if you're in a wheelchair, only about half of the zoo is accessible...

in the bird sanctuary...

ok, so this mama kept following me around and finally stopped me and asked me in spanish if i was from hollywood. i told her no and that i was from texas and she said "no lo creo" (i don't believe it) over and over and finally told me, "i know you're famous," and proceeded to make me take pictures with all of her kids and then her with like five different cameras. by now there's a group of people surrounding us and she suddenly took my hand and placed it on her boob. see? i gotta move to this country!!! lol!

i took tons of pictures of animals, but i'm not going to post them all and bore you with animals that you've seen a hundred times. but i did, however, fall in love with this camel and wanted to share the picture with you : )

this is one of santiago's cell phone companies... see how the building is shaped like a cell phone??

santiago museum of fine art.

a stroll down the park lane... there are parks like this all over the city. it's gorgeous.

this is the river that runs through the center of town. yes, it was spring time there and rivers tend to run brown, but this one is brown all of the time. many villages to the north and smaller towns don't have proper sewage treatment and it ends up in the river collectively from town to town. we called it the rio mierda, or "shit river." the government and people know it's a problem and are starting a million+ project to clean it up. there were billboards about the problem everywhere.

this is me being talked into trying raw chilean salmon. it didn't go over very well.

next we jumped a subway and went to the national cemetery... it's miles and miles of bodies and ashes and monuments etc etc.

but this is what i came to see. this is the wall of all of the names of people that disappeared under the dictatorship of pinochet. people would disappear in the middle of the night, never to be seen again. anyone even remotely thought to oppose government in anyway was taken. most of the thousands upon thousands of people were never found. it is well known that they were hog-tied alive and dumped into the atlantic ocean from a military airplane.

there are wonderful monuments all around for the dead and missing.

many people come to reflect, pay respect, or just sit and think.

what most people around the world don't know is that this happened very recently. this isn't a world war two relic. this happened from the 1974 to 1990. and the bastard didn't die until a few years ago. so many families still have hope that missing are still alive.

a very small section of the wall.

a wonderful little moment breaks the sadness...

to the right and left of the monument are the bodies of political prisoners killed by pinochet's regime.

the rest of cemetery is fascinating. it goes on for miles and miles and it's just stacked ashes and bodies. it's irreverently wonderful...

peace : )

my chilean tour guide michael and i share a picture in the cemetery : )

see michael back there in the background??

baby section. it was absolutely huge. unbelievable.

everything was in bloom... a lovely, gloomy, spring day at the cemetery.

and after a long day at the cemetery, we headed to a cafe downtown to chat and chill before a crazy night out at the clubs... but the one picture i wanna show you soooo badly will have to wait. there's plenty of time for that.
happy new year. see y'all in february.
