it's sad and weird i suppose... last night i put a picture on the board of kim and sent her an email. today i received a phone call that she killed herself yesterday. i'm just distraught and shocked right now.
kim was a big giant sunbeam that would sing tori amos at the top of her lungs- we made mix cds of rare tori songs and memorized each line- i think all of houston has heard us singing in the car.
i miss you already kim.
call your friends. they want you to.

hello friends...
as you know i've written so much about indiana that i put together all of my old poems about that crazy state and put a book together. unfortunately, one of the best kept secrets of indiana didn't make it to my book. there's plenty of poems about this place, but they didn't fit the vibe of the rest of the book. so, i'm going to share some pictures with you of a really cool place that i grew up by/in called Camp Chesterfield. it's a spiritulist camp (camp being the word used for a pyschics' and/or clairvoyants' neighborhood) in the heart of indiana founded in the late 19th century. people there have normal jobs, etc, but have a gift, an energy tapped into that wonderful mental realm that most of us haven't learned to use yet. so, take a look at these wonderful pictures and visit their website.
this is the beautiful prayer cave where i wrote "Jesus In The Prayer Cave"- but i've not released that poem yet... my friend cordell will be the first to read that!
and here's The Man Himself in the prayer cave with an angel watching over.
this is me outside the knowledge garden

hi kids- i'm feeling compelled to show you some things in my yard... i write about trees and nature and being outdoors so often i thought i'd show you some of what inspires me and where i get inspired... enjoy. xoxoxoxoxo
this is my hammock where i write poetry sometimes... or enjoy a heineken.
and this is my stinky compost heap where i recycle all yard scraps and vegetable (and egg shells and coffee grinds) scraps to make fresh mulch/soil. see, i'm a nerd.
here's my new herb garden. this was just weeds and crap last week. and i wanted to cover that gas meter too!
fourth largest sycamore tree in harris county. it's in my front yard. raking in the fall is quite a task.
this is finnegan who will lose his nuts soon.
ahhh... my beautiful azalea bush in the spring and finnegan lurking about!!

Ahhhh... ladies and gentlemen and others- i hope you'll be checking back with the website often as I have taken much burden off of my gorgeous webmaster's hands... she has taught me about updating my site so as not to make her do the work I should be doing. Check out her site. It's quite fine folks, quite fine.
So there's a few new poems in the Poem Of The Week section. Let me know what you think.
So what is new with me is that I'm BUSY BUSY BUSY. I'm single, I'm getting quite happy, and here's the proof.
yes, i shaved my head in a spin of depression- it happens a lot so don't worry- a newly forming relationship was squelched and it left me feeling hollow- but i've planted some thick green vines in there to cover the hole. in the picture i was watching a chameleon crawl about at Empire Cafe while writing poetry... it was instant happiness. such inspiration.
don't forget!!! every sunday and wednesday night at guava lamp i host your comedy/kareoke show from 10:00pm to 2:00am- it's a hoot. and every wednesday night at 8:00 come to Helios for open mic poetry night. i'm rarely NOT there- it's addictive.
So again, watch this site closely as there is much excitement ahead. Lots of pictures, etc etc etc. xoxoxoxoxo
